11.16.2007: Design work has begun on public improvements to the Hirshhorn Museum, the Smithsonian Institute's museum dedicated to international modern and contemporary art.

11.01.2007: Construction has started on the Chizuk Amuno Congregation's renovation of their Krieger Auditorium. The sanctuary will be complete in spring 2008.

10.31.2007: The Assembly Building at Clipper Mill is highlighted on the cover of the September/October 2007 Multifamily Trends magazine by ULI - the Urban Land Institute. The urban development is also featured in an article on the ULI website.

10.29.2007: Clipper Mill garnered yet another award today when it received a 2007 Timothy J. Anderson Award for Excellence in Historic Rehabilitation. The Timmy Awards are bestowed by the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association. Clipper Mill beat out three other finalists as Most Innovative Adaptive Re-Use.

10.19.2007: The annual AIABaltimore Excellence in Design Awards honored two CBH+A projects. The Assembly Building at Clipper Mill was the recipient of the Michael F. Trostel FAIA Award for Excellence in a Historic Preservation Project, and the Towson University Childcare Center received an Honorable Mention Award. Both projects were previously rewarded with AIA Maryland awards.

10.13.2007: Groundbreaking ceremonies for the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts were held in downtown Hagerstown. In attendance were Nancy Grasmick, Maryland State Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Betty Morgan, Superintendent of the Washington County Schools, and Hagerstown Mayor Robert Bruchey II, along with other local officials and dignitaries. Construction is expected to be complete in January, 2009.


09.27.2007: AIA Maryland has chosen three CBH+A projects as 2007 Design Award recipients. The Towson University Childcare Center has been honored, along with two Clipper Mill projects. The Assembly Building features 36 loft apartments and 10,000 SF of office space in an existing building shell, while the all-new Millrace Condominiums was built atop the ruins of a former building.

09.08.2007:

The Enoch Pratt Library - Orleans Street Branch opens today. The 15,000 SF building is one of the first new community libraries built within the system in over 30 years.

06.21.2007: The entire Clipper Mill site has been awarded a Baltimore Heritage Preservation Project Award. The Stables building at Clipper Mill had previously received the same distinction of design and preservation excellence.

The fourth annual celebration of sustainable design will begin at noon and take place in Druid Hill Park. Cho Benn Holback + Associates is a sponsor once again, and will be setting up an information table at the event.

01.29.2007: The Towson University Childcare Center has been completed. CBH+A designed the new facility for future expansion of up to 94 students from two years of age to pre-k. The 11,800 SF building contains five classrooms organized around a central multipurpose room.

10.20.2006: London Town Visitor Center + Museum was awarded the 2006 AIABaltimore Grand Design Award. The project was previously honored with an AIABaltimore Design Award as an unbuilt project. Also receiving an Honorable Mention award was the Jim Rouse Visionary Center.

09.28.2006: Two CBH+A projects have been honored with AIA Maryland awards. London Town Visitor Center + Museum was the recipient of a Merit Award, and the Banneker-Douglass Museum took home an Honor Award this evening.

09.15.2006: Diane Cho has been added to the Baltimore Museum of Art's Board of Trustees. Diane had already been serving the BMA as a member of the Building and Capital Planning Committee. Also announced is the BMA's free admission initiative, beginning on October 1st. > BMA

 
09.06.2006: Geppi's Entertainment Museum celebrates its grand opening at Camden Station. The Museum, designed by Cho Benn Holback + Associates, aims to educate visitors on the role of toys and comic characters in American history. The exhibits are arranged in chronological order, dating back to the late 1700s up until the present day.

09.28.2005: The annual Design Awards Program of AIA Maryland recognized three CBH+A projects for design excellence. The Jim Rouse Visionary Center and Messiah College Larsen Student Union took home Merit Awards, while the Western Maryland Welcome Center received a Citation Award.

The Jim Rouse Visionary Center took first place in the Historic/Commercial category, while the new Elder Health Care facility at Brewers Hill received honorable mention in the same category. The winners will be published in the fall issue of Chesapeake Home magazine.

The Emmer Residence involved the integration of two end units in Mies van der Rohe's Highfield House in Baltimore. The Graham Residence began as a developer's shell situated on a pier in the Canton area of Baltimore.

10.25.2003: Towson Field House wins AIABaltimore Grand Design Award
Cho Benn Holback + Associates' work on the Field House at Johnny Unitas Stadium was honored with an AIABaltimore Grand Design Award. The client was Towson University, and the project was in conjunction with Ellerbe Becket, associate architect.
