The new Childcare Center at Towson University replaces an aging building and increases capacity to 94 children, while doubling as a university teaching tool for students in related fields. The building is organized into two classroom wings splayed around the multipurpose room at the heart of the plan. A large outdoor play area is also integrated visually and topographically with the facility. Wide, light-filled corridors act as enclosed porches, becoming areas for art and activity and seamless transitions between interior and exterior.
