This Enoch Pratt urban branch library, situated in a marginal neighborhood east of downtown Baltimore, has a twofold purpose: to enhance its surroundings as an open and inviting place that is a beacon to its community and an example of a thoroughly modern library for a system that has not built a new community library in over 30 years. The 15,000 GSF program includes a 25’ high reading room, young adult, children’s and study areas, stacks, lobby, computer classroom, 2 public meeting rooms, staff offices and support spaces.
