Patterson Center for the Arts, Baltimore, Maryland

The Patterson Center for the Arts will be located in the old Patterson Theater, a local landmark movie house which has served the community since the 1930s. The proposed renovation will encourage community use and interaction through public programs and displays, and reach out to the community through large, street-level window openings and a sidewalk cafe. The renovation will also create a second floor in the existing building, providing artist live-in work studios with a public exhibition area open to the reception and gallery space below.
