The new College Center East project at Loyola College consisted of 50,000 SF of renovation and a 30,000 SF addition for a total of 80,000 SF over 4 levels. The three-story glass addition and stair/elevator tower formed a new atrium beside a historic stone facade of an existing building. The 8,000 SF rooftop addition with its sweeping room and panoramic views of the campus was a welcome addition to the former dining hall. The program consisted of a full range of student related functions including large office suites for the Departments of Athletics and Student Development, a multipurpose assembly space seating 400, a campus bookstore, a food court and seating area, coffee house, and reading room.
