As the first building in Bryn Mawr's "Stewardship 2000" green initiative, the Admissions Building integrates efficient mechanical and lighting systems, natural daylight and ventilation, active and passive solar power, water reclamation and recycled materials. The cottage highlights natural, temporal, and phenomenological cycles - all of which work to connect the students and visitors more closely to their environment. The building acts as a "living classroom" for the students to study and learn about sustainable technology. As the Admissions Building, it also houses offices and an inviting reception area created for children of different age groups.
